Fishing Lures

There certainly are a growing number of collectible items out there, but I'm not sure there's one as unique and interesting as antique fishing lures. I've seen the drab sheets of stamps and the common look of coins, but these vintage items are a surprising part of the collectible memorabilia.

Angler history has a real niche in our culture and seeing some of these baits provokes thoughts of our forefathers. I imagine these pioneers of lore, setting out for their favorite spot with trial and error in hand. Trying to improve with every days cast on the ever changing bait of the day. A bend here, a twist there, and little more something to add till their lines were full of fish and the sunlight had gone.
